Help NEEDED!

Hello families,

I need someone to volunteer to organize the assembly of our class basket for the Silent Auction that takes place on November 23, 2019.

The theme for this year's basket is, 
"California, the Golden State!"

This person will need to design, collect, organize, and assemble the class basket for the auction.

Let me know if you can take this on and I will let everyone else know who that point person is.

Hello Families,

Just a reminder...
My office hours are M~Th from (3:15-3:45).
I read and return emails at these times. I will do my best to respond within 48 hours. If your message comes in after 3:45, it will be read the following day at 3:15. 

Headmaster O'Donnell and I are still working to make it possible for you all to "subscribe" to this classroom blog and receive email notifications of updates and posts. Please let me know when/if it works!!! 😜

A little note about report cards...
I am proud of each and every one of the students! They all worked very hard this quarter! 
The highest Behavioral/Character mark that I award the first half of the school year is a "G" This stands for GOOOOOOOD! I do not award "E"s for EXCELLENCE until the second half of the year. So if your student earned all "G"s...well "GEE...That's GRRRREAT!"

Silent Auction is Saturday, November 23, from 5-8.

FIELD TRIP FRENZY!

Hello Families,

First off, I'd like to thank Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Hagg, and Mrs. Franklin for chaperoning and driving for our "Seussical" field trip on Friday.

We have been offered an awesome opportunity to take a field trip this Wednesday, October 23 to the organic berry farm of Driscoll's! We took this field trip last year and it was not only educational...but also DELICIOUS!!! 🍓

Yes, I do realize that this comes right on the heels of Friday's field trip, but sometimes you just have to take advantage of offers that come your way!!! I am very grateful to the Miller~Spahn family!!!

Please consider driving for this field trip. We will be leaving school after lunch at 12:30 and returning around 2:30 in time for pick~up.  Email me if you are available.

Order out of Chaos!

Dear Families,
I know that the last week has been chaotic due to the power outages and the end of quarter. Below are the due dates and the days of the tests/quizzes:

Friday~ END OF QUARTER!!! ALL CORRECTIONS DUE!


Friday's field trip to the musical, Seussical, is ON!!! I have the following 4 drivers expected:

2. Franklin

3. White

4. Hagg
We will leave campus at 8:30 and return before noon dismissal. This should be fun!!! I just recently found out that Seussical is a BROADWAY MUSICAL!!! New York! New York!

Update on History map & Test

Hello families,

The California Salt Dough Relief Map is NOT DUE TOMORROW! 
I'm mean... 😵
But I'm not THAT mean!!!

I expect that you have made the dough and formed the map. That was assigned on Tuesday night as homework and is reasonable to expect has been done.

Painting, labelling, and "tricking~out" of the map will be done next week. You will not need to be working on this over the weekend.

RELIEF MAP WILL BE DUE ON~~~ Thursday, October 17!
 Please have your students bring it in on that day...not before
I will grade them and send them back at the end of school. QUICK TURNAROUND, BABY!!!

The History TEST will be on Wednesday, October 16. This will be the student's first History test and have historically been a challenge for the 4th graders. Please assist your students in studying for at least 15 minutes a night. They will have a SG to look at on both Monday and Tuesday nights.

Field Trip Drivers Still Needed!

We still are in need of 2 more drivers for next Friday's field trip, October 18,  to the SEUSSICAL! If we do not get them by this Friday I will cancel the trip. Please email me if you are able to drive and take at least 3 students in seatbelts. Thanks!

BRACE YOURSELVES!!!

Hello families,

You will be helping your student make a relief map of California AT HOME next week!!! Every night you will have a bit of the assignment to do and your student should bring in their completed map on Friday, October 11!

Here is a list of supplies you will be needing...so you will have the weekend to gather them if needed:

table salt
all-purpose flour
water
glue
piece of cardboard (12X18)
scissors
pencil
plastic knife
water color paints

Field Trip Rescheduled

Hello families,

The field trip to the CYT musical, "Seussical" has been changed to Friday, October 18 at 9:00. We will leave right at 8:20 and be back before end of school that day. Please pack a sack lunch for your students.

 We will need 4 drivers/chaperones. Please email me if you want to go and I will take the first 4. If you want to drive/chaperone, please go and see Renee in the office to get all of the paperwork in order. 

The cost will be $8.00 per person. Chaperones will need to pay for their tickets.
